It's definitely an occasion type place to go to and while the prices are high, the portions are really generous. For instance, I got this ravioli first course and thought it'd be like 3 ravioli? It was 8. Kind of a full portion really. And then the second course was even bigger. The dessert portions were no slouch either. It's hard to talk about a place this expensive as being a great "value" but Selby's really gives you a lot of food. Oh and the food is great.

My third visit. The first (2021) was divine and inspiring. I was blown away by classy service, a beautiful ambience, and a spectacular three-course indulgence. The second visit (earlier this year) was disappointing - service appeared haphazard. Management reached out and encouraged a third visit - I agreed to give it another shot. And this visit was substantially better than that first visit. Service clearly improved - I had probably gone on an off-night, given the generally positive reviews posted here. My dining partner noticed just how perfectly cut every vegetable was - carrots, peas, all the same size... I loved the bread. It's nice to be wrong about a restaurant and that even the kind of old-school Michelin-starred places can have a bad day.

Another spectacular family celebration at Selby's! This time for my sister's birthday. This restaurant strikes the perfect balance of fine dining in an elevated but still comfortable setting. Unlike my Christmas Eve dinner, with my son, in which I was on my best behavior, with my didactic persona on display, intending to impart motherly wisdom and teach some intricacies of fine dining to my progeny. This dinner was a jubilant celebration with my amazing sisters, one of whom is a regular ay Selby's and the other who has never had the pleasure of dining here. We had an amazing time , indulging in the freshest and most delicious food, sharing our food and laughing about our lives, our childhood, our experiences as daughters, sisters, mothers and best friends. Service was as fantastic as it was Christmas eve, the vibe was slightly less formal and more colloquial which perfectly fit our preferences. The staff here seems to have the unique ability to assess early on and deliver service that is very appropriate for the specific occasion and party being served. Tonight was a little more raucous and silly. We loved our food. First courses were especially spectacular. We nibbled Ali's tuna tartare, I reveled in the season's finest stone fruit and burrata in a uniquely presented and composed salad. My sister Vanessa won the appetizer round of dinner with FIOR DI STRACCHINO RAVIOLI, which she generously shared..Truffles, handmade pasta and cheese... just yum. Our mains were also fantastic, the finishing sauces were phenomenal and my medium rare Filet was a meal I could eat every day.: two perfect beef medallions with three potato medallions topped with Early Girl tomatoes. My sisters loved their pork and halibut aa well. The Gruyère popovers somehow were better than they were during my last visit, simply by virtue of being even fresher. Of course by the time dessert came, I knew that most of my Midnight Chocolate cake with caramel fondant, hazelnut and gold leaf, along with mignardises ( chocolate mints (yum)and gumdrops would mostly be going home to my kid. Dinner here with people who I love makes me feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world!

Absolutely perfect experience. Some of the best service I've ever experienced and super incredible food. They took our party of 5 even though we called to make a reservation on the day of. Every one of the 5 of us left very full and super happy. The tuna tartare was incredible. The dessert was also some of the best dessert I've had. I usually don't look forward to the dessert as much, but every bite of the profiterole was perfect. They made me an affogato even though it wasn't on any menu. And the valet outside was also excellent! Overall a great way to celebrate 2 graduations & Father's Day.
